The competencies of our staff include international climate policy, mathematical and economic modeling, forecasting methodologies, expert evaluation, and energy industries analysis. The company has expanded rapidly and now has an international team of more than 150 employees. Point Carbon has offices in Oslo (head office), London, Kiev, Washington D.C. and Malmö. Point Carbon’s Washington, DC office was established in September 2006 and will provide news and analysis coverage of the emerging North American greenhouse gas markets. Our growing team currently comprises 25 professionals. Point Carbon is expanding operations in the United States and a position as Financial Analyst in the Research and Advisory team is now available: MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES You will:
- Provide research and advisory services in the area of carbon finance:
- transaction and price tracking
- investment research
- carbon transaction models
- Trading and investment strategies
- Aid in the commercialization and expansion of new analytical tools
- Work closely with a small team
QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate must:
- Possess a Master’s degree or MBA in finance, environmental finance, economics, or other policy or environmental degree where financial issues are core elements
- Preferably demonstrate working experience within the field or related subjects
- Be proficient with Windows operating systems and Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word)
- Have excellent command of US English orally and in writing
- Be a US citizen or hold a Visa to work in the United States
- Be available to accept an offer and assume a position shortly
